Frequently Asked Questions

What are your main areas of focus as a Naturopathic doctor?

I focus on optimizing gut health, balancing hormones, and promoting optimal skin health. I believe these areas are deeply interconnected and foundational to overall well-being. My approach often includes lifestyle adjustments, nutrition guidance, and personalized treatment plans to support these core areas.

How does gut health impact hormones, mood, energy and skin?

The gut is central to hormone production and regulation. Imbalances in the gut can lead to hormonal issues that manifest in various ways, including skin problems like acne, dryness, or inflammation. By healing the gut, we often see improvements in hormonal balance, reduction in brain fog and skin clarity.

What approach do you take as a Naturopathic Doctor?

I take an integrative approach, using dietary adjustments, plant medicine and supplements to support gut health. For hormone balance, I might recommend natural treatments such as adaptogenic herbs, lifestyle changes, or, in some cases, hormone testing. My goal is to tailor treatments to each patient’s needs.

What role does nutrition play in skin health?

Nutrition plays a huge role in skin health. As a holistic nutritionist for over a decade (prior to becoming a naturopath) I have seen time and time again that a diet rich in antioxidants, nutrient, and anti-inflammatory foods can help improve skin tone, texture, and resilience. I work with patients to create a nutrition plan that supports their skin from within by focusing on nutrient-dense, gut-friendly foods. Topical treatments are used to enhance one’s skin once we’ve assessed it from within. This includes facials, microneedling and medical grade peptide infusions (Mesogold)

How do you personalize care for each patient’s unique health goals?

I start with a comprehensive consultation to understand each patient’s goals, symptoms, and health history. I may use lab testing to assess gut health, hormone levels, and nutritional needs. From there, I create a personalized plan that could include dietary guidance, lifestyle modifications, and targeted treatments specific to their needs. The goal is at the end of each visit there is an upward trajectory of positive changes in one’s health as we move along.
