Getting To The Root

If you’re struggling with digestive issues, the symptoms can be both overwhelming and frustrating. It can also be difficult to understand what are the underlying causes of symptoms such as bloating, constipation, diarrhea, and pain.

Gut health has profound effects on energy, skin, brain fog, sleep,  joint pain, mood imbalances, and sinus issues. We work alongside you to help uncover the root cause of your digestive concerns and provide an to approach to healing.

Digestive Concerns

IBS

Irritable bowel syndrome is a common condition characterized by constipation, diarrhea, gas, bloating & abdominal cramping. IBS is a diagnosis of exclusion, meaning once all underlying pathologies like inflammatory bowel disease, and celiac disease have been ruled out, your symptoms are assumed to be as a result of your nervous system.

SIBO

Small Intestinal Bacterial Overgrowth (SIBO) occurs when there are too many bacteria in the wrong place (the small intestine). Although bacteria is vital for the functioning of the healthy body, too many bacteria or an imbalance of certain types of bacteria can lead to a variety of health concerns (SIBO symptoms). Treatment requires a multistep approach where diet modifications, antimicrobials and motility agents play a role.

Food Sensitivities

Food sensitivities are hard to identify because a reaction can occur up to 3 days after consuming the food culprit. If the cause of your digestive condition is related to a food sensitivity, a visit with one of our naturopathic doctors would involve food sensitivity testing or an elimination diet in order to determine your individual sensitivities.

Leaky Gut

Defined as a defect of the gut lining, leaky gut can result in indigestion, gas, persistent muscle pain, poor concentration, skin rashes, recurrent bladder or yeast infections, constipation or anxiety. Leaky gut may also be a danger signal for autoimmune disease as the gut lining plays a key role in the regulation of environmental factors that enter the body.
